Pine Rest Opens New Patient Unit, Contact Center & Main Entrance
The 3-year project to acquiring beds, enlisting professional and community feedback, working with a leading health care facility architectural firm, local construction company and trade partners, to opening the patient unit to new patients, makes seeing the unit in use that much more special.
“It is a long process from identifying a need, to accepting patients in a new unit. With this unit, Pine Rest will be able to serve 1,200 more adolescents and young adults annually which is the same number of patients we had to turn away last year because we did not have a patient bed,” says Mark Eastburg, Ph.D., Pine Rest president & CEO. “This 26-bed unit was built in response to community members and partners asking for better access to these services.”
