NNDC 2023 Board of Directors Announcement

The NNDC extends a warm welcome to our new and reappointed board members for 2023 and a fond farewell to our outgoing members, with gratitude for the dedication and support of these individuals to the NNDC mission: To change the national conversation surrounding depression, bipolar disorders, and other mood disorders through large-scale collaborative studies, education, and outreach.

NEW MEMBERS
  • Mario Cristancho, M.D. – University of Pennsylvania
    • Dr. Cristancho’s clinical focus is mood disorders, specializing in treatment-resistant depression through psychopharmacology and neuromodulation interventions.
  • Fernando Goes, M.D. – Johns Hopkins Medicine
    • Dr. Goes is a psychiatrist with post-doctoral training in mood disorders and psychiatric genetics, and his research focuses on the genetics of bipolar disorder.

OUTGOING MEMBERS
  • J. Raymond DePaulo, Jr., M.D. – Johns Hopkins Mood Disorders Center
    • Dr. DePaulo joined the NNDC Board of Directors since its founding in 2008, and served as Vice-President in 2011, and then as President from 2016-2019. He served the Network as a steadfast champion for one of our most important initiatives, our Mood Outcomes program, continually encouraging progress. His visionary leadership ushered the NNDC into a period of growth, and we are excited to continue to build upon the groundwork he has so generously created.
  • Dwight L. Evans, M.D. (1947-2022) – University of Pennsylvania
    • We are greatly saddened by the passing of Dwight L. Evans, M.D. on November 19, 2022. Dr. Evans joined the NNDC Board of Directors since the beginning in 2008, representing the University of Pennsylvania as a founding member. He chaired the NNDC Membership Committee since its inception in 2011, leading our efforts to engage with prospective and existing member institutions. His contributions to NNDC, University of Pennsylvania, and our community are a tremendous legacy for us all.
