About Baylor:

As the intellectual heart of the Texas Medical Center, Baylor College of Medicine is surrounded by some of the leading institutions in the world for patient care, research and education.

This location has supported the development of affiliations that enrich every aspect of our missions. With eight highly regarded affiliated hospitals as well as relationships with leading universities, NASA and others, Baylor College of Medicine has a diversity of resources unparalleled at other academic health centers.

The Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Baylor College of Medicine provides compassionate, safe and effective care of people with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders and educates students, physicians, mental health professionals and the general public in psychiatry and the behavioral sciences; and conducts innovative and relevant research into the understanding and treatment of people with psychiatric disorders, and into the prevention of these conditions.

The Baylor faculty believe that psychiatry is an integral part of medicine; that it is a brain-based specialty that encompasses biological, psychological, social, interpersonal and spiritual parameters; and that it is most effective when practiced in an evidence-based manner, involving interdisciplinary academic collaboration and expertise.
