The Primary Care Task Group was created in 2019 to develop a group of Depression Centers with affiliated primary care practices who are interested in working together to improve assessment and treatment of mood disorders in primary care, including development and testing of best practices for coordinating the care across their shared populations of patients with mood disorders. One important goal of the Primary Care task group is the development of a pilot program to test collaborative projects. Examples are use of peer support groups and other common group programs, utilization of Mood Outcomes patient rated outcomes to help stratify and triage patients between primary and specialty mental health care, and care coordination programs that span primary care and specialty care.
