The Weill Cornell Department of Psychiatry treats over 10,000 patients annually at two major facilities: The New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Payne Whitney Westchester. The Department of Psychiatry has over 35 areas of clinical specialty and offers outstanding training in clinical care, research, education and leadership. The department has developed major research programs in functional neuroimaging, basic neuroscience and genetics, and has additional areas of research expertise such as geriatric psychiatry, personality disorders and eating disorders.

NNDC Announces Passage of Important Mental Health Legislation

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A major step was taken in the fight against depression. The National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC) is proud to announce the passage of the ENHANCED Act of 2009 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), on March 21, 2010. The ENHANCED Act will establish national “centers of excellence” for the treatment of depression and bipolar disorders.
