The University of Cincinnati Department of Psychiatry is one of the leading research and teaching psychiatric departments in the country, with internationally regarded expertise in bipolar and other mood disorders. The Depression Center at UC is comprised of a collaboration of several clinical venues including the Neuroscience Institute at University Hospital, UC Physicians Psychiatry, the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center, Alliance Primary Care through UC Family Medicine. The Lindner Center of HOPE, is a free-standing mental health facility in North America opened in 2008. It is a private, non-profit facility, and will be the leading mental health care diagnostic and treatment center in the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana region. Together, the University of Cincinnati Department of Psychiatry and Lindner Center of HOPE provide broad, comprehensive, scientifically based care of mood and other psychiatric disorders across the lifespan by offering a variety of treatment opportunities and venues.

NNDC Announces Passage of Important Mental Health Legislation

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A major step was taken in the fight against depression. The National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC) is proud to announce the passage of the ENHANCED Act of 2009 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), on March 21, 2010. The ENHANCED Act will establish national “centers of excellence” for the treatment of depression and bipolar disorders.
