Brigham and Women’s Hospital was founded in 1980. It receives approximately $400 million for research from the National Institute of Health each year. It has been ranked on U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll of America's best hospitals for 11 consecutive years. BWH is also the only hospital in the nation to be named for eight consecutive years to Solucient's list of Top 100 Hospitals. BWH was also recently recognized by the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) for being one of five top performing academic medical centers in the country in a special quality and safety benchmarking study. Brigham and Women’s Hospital is an affiliate of McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital which are members of the Partners HealthCare System, Inc., this allows for comprehensive coordination of medical and psychiatric services.

NNDC Announces Passage of Important Mental Health Legislation

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A major step was taken in the fight against depression. The National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC) is proud to announce the passage of the ENHANCED Act of 2009 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), on March 21, 2010. The ENHANCED Act will establish national “centers of excellence” for the treatment of depression and bipolar disorders.
